Developing a Smart Growth Message & Working with the Media
Your group will develop a simple and compelling message and materials that can be used when talking to the public, the press, and your local goverment officials. You'll also develop a plan to publicize your issue in the media, and learn key strategies for events, reports, and building relationships with reporters.

Secrets to Effective Lobbying
Talking to your elected officials should be one of the first things you do when you want to change something you don't like in your community - but too often it's the last thing neighborhood groups thinl to do. Learn how to develop a specific plan and learn to effectively lobby your local, state and federal officials.

Building a Winning Community Group
Your group will develop a plan to start, build, and maintain and effective and efficient neighborhood organization. You'll learn how to transform your neighbors into an effective political force for watchdogging your local governments - it's easier than you think!

Winning at Public Hearings
Learn to develop a plan to prepare testimony and galvanize public support. Learn the tactics and implementation to win at an upcoming public hearing on your issue.

Fundraising to Win
Your group will develop a plan to aise money through building a membership, holding fundraising events, and / or grantwriting successfully.
